Fernando Sor   - (1778-1839) Was a Spanish composer and guitarist. Born in Barcelona, educated at the choir school of Montserrat. Sor wrote tremendous number of guitar compositions that lifted the guitar repertory much higher. In 1815 he moved to London, there he wrote operas, Ballets and music for piano. Influenced by Hayed, Mozart and the Sor wrote Sonatas for the guitar and music in parts. Sor equalized the guitar to piano and that is a remarkable element in his guitar music.
